Hello! I’m Megan (she/her) and it’s nice to meet you. I wear many hats including being a mom, wife, friend, yogi, community volunteer, and Registered Psychologist in Calgary, AB. I have been registered (in good standing) with the College of Alberta Psychologists since 2021.
Life is messy and there is no one solution that works in all situations. It is my goal to address and meet the needs of families—wherever they are along their unique journey. I work with children (5-17 years old) and their families, providing either individual or family therapy. I have extensive experience working with families involved with multiple systems. As well as families faced with concerns related to parent-children relationship concerns, intergenerational trauma, violence/aggression, and emotional/behavioural dysregulation. Common presenting concerns I work with (but limited to) include: anxiety, attachement concerns, divorce, depression, perfectionism, suicide ideation, nonsuicidal self-injury, posttraumatic spectrum disorder, sexully intrusive behaviours (12-17 years old). I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach of evidence-based therapies specific to your unique needs and goals. I most commonly draw upon, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), play therapy (specifically, sand tray), and family systems therapy (SFT). I am also trained in accelerated resolution therapy (ART). ART is a evidence-based therapy commonly used to treat post traumatic stress through the use of eye movements. With a passion for working with students and young people navigating life’s various transitions, I strive to create a space where clients can explore their feelings, build resilience, and find their own paths toward healing and understanding. Equipped with a background focus on mental health and trauma, I approach my work with empathy to facilitate healing and self-discovery.
My experience working with young people in various settings has equipped me with the skills to address issues such as anxiety, stress, and identity development. I’ve had the privilege of guiding young people through pivotal moments in their lives—whether it’s managing academic pressures, adjusting to new environments, or processing significant life changes - I am dedicated to supporting clients navigate these complexities with confidence.
Integrating evidence-based practices with a compassionate, person-centered approach while using expressive arts and ecotherapeutic techniques are the cornerstones to my work. I believe that creativity can be a powerful tool for processing trauma and expressing feelings that may be difficult to articulate. Whether through visual art, poetry, or connection with nature, I help clients tap into their innate strengths and find new ways to cope with challenges.
In my practice, I prioritize inclusivity and cultural sensitivity, recognizing the diverse backgrounds and identities that shape our lives.Together, we can explore your unique journey and develop strategies that empower you to thrive. Hello and welcome! It takes courage to seek help, so I commend you for taking this first step. Although therapy can seem intimidating, I view it as just like any other health service, such as the dentist or chiropractor. Just like how we visit the dentist if we have severe tooth pain or need a regular routine cleaning, I am here for both your traumatic life experiences as well as maintenance sessions. No issue is too small when working with me and my practice, Arcadia Counselling. No one is meant to struggle alone, which is where I come in.
Therapy looks different for everyone so whether you are looking for a place to unload, want me to challenge you to uncover the ‘nitty-gritty’, desire at home virtual sessions, want to learn some new coping techniques, or improve your quality of life, I strive to help you feel supported, validated, and heard. Here to accompany you on your healing journey, my approach comes from a place of compassion, warmth, and sometimes lighthearted conversation (so that our time together is more fun than going to the dentist!).
My passion for supporting others is longstanding and genuine. With over a decade spent in the field of psychology, I bring experience, education, and a warm welcoming aura to my practice. I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lethbridge in psychology and a master’s degree from Yorkville University in counselling psychology. I have worked in both the public and private sectors, working alongside those with varying mental health concerns. As a generalist, I support children, adults, couples, and families with a wide range of presenting concerns. My counselling style takes a holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach while providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. I draw from a number of therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
I offer a 15-minute complimentary meet and greet call for any further questions or to chat about how I can support you. I am also open to discussing benefits coverage and sliding-scale questions.

Hi and welcome! I’m Liz, a mental health therapist that believes counselling is for everyone. Whether life feels especially hard right now, it’s been tough for a while, or you’re hoping to maintain your current mental health, I invite you to reach out and book a session.
People that come to see me are often looking to understand themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. I welcome you into a warm and safe space, exactly as you are, so that we can work together to make meaning of it all. In this space, you can expect to feel heard, seen, and understood. But you can also expect to feel cozy, nestled into a chair, as we connect human to human and I get to know you deeply.
I approach my practice with an open mind, open heart, and integrity. With a clinical specialization in mental health and addictions, I seek to understand people within the context of their experiences, while honouring the stories shared with me. I believe that people are more than the sum of their experiences because we are layered and complex. People do the best they can with what they have, and we are all deserving and capable of change.
I am a registered social worker and hold a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Calgary, specializing in mental health and addictions. My education, training, and years of experience have provided me with the knowledge and skills to best support you. I draw upon several different approaches including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), and narrative therapy. My approach is determined by what is best suited for the individual and their therapeutic goals.
“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety” (Abraham Maslow). I believe that both options are valid, so let’s figure out which one you take together.
If you would like to know more about how I can support you, please contact me for a free consultation. I would be happy to connect, answer your questions, and help you determine if I’m the right person to book with!

Hi there, I’m Patricia Owens (she/her). I am a wearer of many hats, among them: helper, partner, mama, daughter, friend and registered psychologist.
Let’s focus on the last one. I’m glad you’re here. Often, reaching out and seeking support, is the first, if not hardest step. Good job! I’ve always had this visualization of well-being or personhood if you will. It is not rooted in science, but something that was told to me as a small child. Here it is: we all have a light that shines within us. This light is the essence of our being and it burns bright. At times, life challenges and stressors cause our light to flicker. When we are faced with complex challenges, like trauma, addictions, or emotional and/or mental stress, that light can become covered. Caked in mud, if you will. The more challenges, the more layers. The light is still there, but it’s hard to see.
My goal, is to partner with you to peel back the layers and allow your light to shine bright again. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in the criminal justice system and directly in the mental health field, helping adolescents and adults navigate complex mental health, trauma and addictions. I have a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta.
My professional interests and experiences include working with people who struggle with trauma, perinatal mental health, birth and reproductive trauma, postpartum challenges, addictions, mood disorders (depression, anxiety etc), disordered eating, grief/loss, life changes and transitions.
I am informed in my practice by my education, clinical training, current evidence-based research, and my own experiences with parenting and life challenges. My approach to counselling is deeply trauma-informed and attachment-based. I draw from a variety of modalities, including narrative and solution-focused therapies and cognitive-behavioural therapy. On a personal note, as a Mama of two (very busy) young boys, I know how overwhelming the transition to motherhood is and how exhausting parenting can be. Parenting can be an incredible privilege and at times, an incredible struggle. That light that I spoke about earlier, can begin to be obstructed as everything becomes about the baby/child. We cannot pour from an empty cup and I believe that it is so important that we take care of, and nurture the parents and caregivers.
Let’s connect and help your light shine bright again. Oh, and babies are welcome. :)
